This ‘n That ……a gathering
All of a sudden last Monday afternoon, the house got quiet again.
Thursday, the week before, my daughter DeAnne showed up with two of her brood – Jessica and Paul ̶̶̶ for a planned visit. Then, late Friday evening, daughter Colleen and her three boys (John, Ian and Owen) arrived.
Saturday was mostly kick back and visit. Rummage through decades of photos and plan on doing some scanning and digitizing. Paul took over the charcoal grill and did a darn good job of grilled potatoes, hamburgers, and the requisite hot dogs.
Sunday morning I surprised Jessi with her first ever flying lesson in a glider. It was an early birthday present. She’ll be 16 on the 29th of this month. According to the flight instructor, she did an excellent job. According to him, most beginners are only good for 20-30 minutes. That first lesson lasted 1.2 hours!
She left the airport with an “official” pilot’s log book.
Colleen and her boys headed home to Los Alamitos, CA, Sunday afternoon. DeAnne went back to St. George, UT, the next day. Before De left we pretty much figured out how to digitize the decades of photos stacked up in the back room. Someday we’ll get them all on CDs.
